This is a brief update about some changes I made to the website. It’s the first update since I officially launched.
DNA Subsection
The Biomarkers page has a new subsection for DNA.
Last year I got my DNA sequenced which revealed some genes that have led to lifestyle changes. I have organized it into 3 columns; The problem, Gene/s, and How I counteract it.
I hope it’s useful for others. It might encourage you to get your DNA sequenced, and might be good to check the list against your genes to see if you would benefit from any of the same lifestyle changes.
I will keep the list up to date as new research comes out.
New Biomarkers
I got test results for vitamin D levels and Omega-3 Index, so I have added them. My vitamin D at the low end of the optimal range for that lab, and omega-3 is slightly lower than optimal but still well within the reference range.
New Supplements
I added sulforaphane to my stack, and have almost finished organizing my research into an article which I will publish soon. The main reason I added it is to reduce LDL since that’s higher than I want it.
I added an extra choline supplement based on the presence of the FADS1 gene.
I also added alpha-ketogluterate, L-carnosine, CoQ10, and taurine, based on their evidence and to see whether they affect my next blood test results.
I increased my vitamin D supplementation from 1000IU to 2000IU because of the test result. I’m already in the optimal range but slightly higher would be even more optimal.
I added a probiotic containing certain strains that I have been reading about, and I will write about it soon.
Lastly, I am soon going to replace the vitamin B complex with a multivitamin that has the methylated form of B12, and I increased my dose of TMG from 500mg to 1000mg, based on the presence of the MTHFR gene. I will update the list when I change to the multivitamin.
